Description: Fantastic patterned roll cloth from times gone by Germany around 1900/1920. This linen cloth has an exceptional size. It is 90 cm - 35.43 inch - wide and 300 cm - 118 inch long. Weight: 600 grams. It is made of wonderful pattern-woven, shiny half-linen with an illustration. The cloth is beige and the depiction is woven in cream white. Housewife stands in front of the tub in the garden washing her laundry, children play in the garden. The clothesline is attached to two trees. Freshly washed textiles hang on the line to dry. The wind blows.The sun is shining. Above the trees is the inscription “roll cloth” German Word " Rolltuch " Pretty woven ornaments adorn both sides of the roll cloth. Red woven border with garlands on the edge. The roll cloth is in very good condition. The roll towel has never been washed or used. There are a few stains in the linen fabric. They disappear when washed. Roll cloths were used to smooth out the house linen. The laundry was wrapped around rolling pins and then rolled in the ironer.To protect the laundry, the textiles were wrapped in the rolling cloth.
