Description: This set of two real photo postcards feature Private Abe Wolfson in Manderscheid Germany on January 20, 1919, "Orderly for Capt. Phillips C.O." One card shows him in his regular uniform, and the other shows him all suited up with his gas mask. On the back of the gas mask card, it reads "This is my orderly, he is a fine kid. He looks after me like I was a kid. He sure thinks lots of me. He is from New York City. Says he doesn't know what he will do when he has to leave me. He has been with me in some close places and always looks out for his captain." These two cards were from an album made by Captain (Dr.) Wm. Phillips and presented to his son Claude Phillips MP. The inside label of the albums said "Souvenir cards of Europe & War 1914-1918 presented to Claude Phillips by Father, Captain Wm Phillips, 90th Division AEF." Unposted. One card has writing on the front, the other has writing on the back. Please read full description for background on these postcards. Both cards have a slight curve as is common with real photo postcards. Very sharp images with a bit of fading and some edge and corner wear, but overall nice shape. Please see photos of postcard for condition and ask any questions before purchase. Please like and follow my eBay store Groovy Postcards, I'm adding hundreds of new postcards every month. Thanks!
