Description: Gordon Grant (1875-1962) was an American artist well known for his maritime drawings and watercolors. He created WWI posters, designed the cover of the Boy Scout Handbook, and illustrated for the Saturday Evening Post. Sail Ho! includes 63 drawings, some serious, some whimsical about daily life on a square-rigged sailing ship in the Alaskan salmon fleet. Many of the sketches were made aboard the "Star of Alaska" during a voyage in 1925. The ship hauled down her colors in November, 1930. Good condition. Text is clean, binding is solid. Toning on edges and some stains on cloth cover. No dust jacket.
