Description: SINISTER STORIES Vol 1 No 1, February 1940. This is the Wildside Press FACSIMILE REPRINT, #9 in the Wildside Pulp Classics series, published in 2005. The reproduction quality is very good. SINISTER STORIES lasted three issues. It was one of the last of the "weird menace" pulps, which featured over-the-top horror, sex, sadism, and only occasional fantastic elements. Such magazines were a fad in the late '30s until censors began to crack down. Such magazines were known as "the hots" and sold as much under the counter as over it. Probably all the bylines are pseudonyms. You could be certain that an actual original of this issue would cost many hundreds of dollars. Always happy to combine shipping on multiple orders. Note that the foreign postage prices are a guess. If they prove too high I will refund the difference. As pulps are rather fragile, this will require some stiff packaging which may add to the weight a little bit.
