It has unknown white wispy inclusions and gas veils mixed with the feathery blue light refraction phenomena. This phenomena has also been called "Angel Feathers". The "Blue Phantoms" inside are mostly invisible until the crystal is lit from the base with a flashlight. Then they become easily seen. Sunlight also works if the angles are correct. As it has been explained to me, this phenomena is actually caused by microscopic voids within the crystal structure, which explains why they are seen as lines in geometric angles within the crystal. (The blue color is caused by the "Tyndall Effect", a natural light scattering process that favors blue light over red.) Photos are lit by natural sunlight, and fluorescent light. Quartz is Silicon dioxide, SiO2, Hardness is 7.
