Description: Up for sale is a Very Nice Condition Sideplate in Stainless Steel, that originated from a well cared-for S&W Model 640 No Dash Centennial Stainless revolver, chambered in .38 Special. There are some light handling marks and signs of use and age - please examine the photoset closely so that you have a realistic expectation of the condition of the item when taking delivery. **** PLEASE READ INFO ON COMPATIBLE MODELS COMPLETELY: **** - The Model 640 No Dash was still one of the original J-Frame sized models, and pre-dates Smith & Wesson's switch to the J-Magnum Frame (slightly taller) when the Model 640-1 came out. DO NOT use this Sideplate for any of the later Model 640-1, 640-2, or 640-3 as they have an ever-so-slightly larger profile than the Sideplate in this listing!! - This Sideplate has a Yoke Screw hole that is slightly larger diameter than the center and rear holes, which accommodated the slightly larger diameter "Yoke Screw Assembly" that was used on the Model 640 No Dash. - And for the record, this Sideplate is in the original-style "Brushed" Stainless, and not the Modern / Contemporary "Glass Bead", or Matte Stainless that's typically seen on later models. As with any vintage gun part there may be minor imperfections and we have attempted to capture a fair rendition of the condition of the item in the image set. See photos for full description.
