Description: The souvenir banknote is dedicated to the Hero of Ukraine, the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine, Leonid Kadenyuk, who in 1997 flew on the American space shuttle Columbia (STS-87 mission) as part of an international crew. The Ukrainian cosmonaut-researcher performed a wide range of work as part of a joint Ukrainian-American experiment, the task of which was to study the effect of microgravity on the growth and development of higher plants. The souvenir banknote is made on paper with a watermark (an image of the globe with continents), a 1.5 mm protective tape is inserted into the thicker paper parallel to the smaller side of the banknote and protective fibers that acquire a fluorescent glow under the action of ultraviolet rays. The souvenir banknote was printed using offset, intaglio, screen printing and letterpress printing methods using protected inks. The dimensions of the souvenir banknote are 80 x 170 mm.
