Salvaged many years ago from a 100-year+ old water tank and carefully stored. Natural patina on the external surfaces. Planes to beautiful surfaces as seen in the photos. This pen blank-sized piece is a sample of the finest architectural grade of redwood (old growth is superior to newer growth in terms of moisture resistance, insect resistance and maintenance). We have about 4800 board feet of this rare lumber to make into 3/4x3/4x5 inch pen or knife blanks, should you have many pens or knives.
