Description: This is a vintage, 1977, copy of the SPI game "War of the Rings" in the plastic flat-pack holder. It is in excellent condition; by looking at how unpunched it is, and the condition of the Maps and playing parts (sheets have never been written on) clearly it has never been played. There is only one problem of concern and that is the rotted rubber band problem. Let's look at the pictures: 2nd picture shows the counter sheet, mostly unpunched except for 25 counters. I have them to the left of the picture so you can enlarge the picture and see that all 25 counters are there, so all 400 counters are there. 3rd picture, the two map parts. Enlarge it as much as you can; the map is in mint condition. 4th picture - all 112 cards are there. I counted twice. 5th picture - the playing sheets and the rules. All four sheets are there, and you can see that the player strength sheets have never been written on. Again, in mint condition. 6th - The unit/ counter plastic holder and the original SPI die. 7th & 8th pictures - now we get to the rotted rubber band problem. The original owner had the playing cards held together by a rubber band. But the game must of have been in storage for 40 or 45 years, and the rubber band holding the cards literally dried out and rotted and broke apart, sticking to the two cards on the top and bottom of the banded card stack. In the 7th picture, you can see that as I chipped/ scrapped off the rotted rubber band, it left a line/ streak on the two cards. If you enlarge the picture and look closely, you can see it. It's not bad, but it's there. In the 8th picture, you can see that he must have held the entire game together with a larger rubber band, and the rotted rubber band is still sticking to that part of the front cover thing. I didn't try to chip it off for fear of tearing the paper. Also, as often happens with these SPI flat-packs (I have a lot of SPI games), the bottom cardboard has separated and is no longer glued to the plastic tray for holding the counters/ units. I always re-attach them with scotch tape. So that's everything. If you have any questions, please ask. Shipping is free in the USA only.
