Description: Teresita Naranjo (1919-1999) Description: Selling this magnificent Santa Clara pottery olla by Teresita Naranjo. This olla is one of her rare large pieces rarely seen in the market and having the privilege of owning such a piece I can see why as the Olla stands out in any display setting. This is such a wonderful piece of art by the artist and a great example of Santa Clara pottery. Condition: There are some condition issues on the pottery throughout not sure what exactly happened with it but this is how I found the Olla for a better description of condition see pictures feel free to send a message with any questions. Measurements: 9" Tall x 7" wide Teresita NaranjoTeresita Naranjo was a daughter of Christina Naranjo, a sister of Mary Cain and the great-aunt to Autumn Borts and Tammy Garcia. Her pottery can be found in the permanent collection of museums nationwide including The National Museum of the American Indian, the Denver Art Museum and the Heard. Teresita Naranjo holds a place of historic significance in Santa Clara pottery, as she is considered the first to carve outside the linear band designs for her imagery. Her carving was always deep and crisp, and the designs seem to flow gracefully around the surface.
