Description: Up for sale is a copy of "The Confessions of Nat Turner" A Novel by William Styron. Published by Random House, New York. Stated First Printing, 1967. Signed by the author on the front end page. In the late summer of 1831, in a remote section of southeastern Virginia, there took place the only effective, sustained revolt in the annals of American Negro slavery ... The revolt was led by a remarkable Negro preacher named Nat Turner, an educated slave who felt himself divinely ordained to annihilate all the white people in the region. "The Confessions of Nat Turner" is narrated by Nat himself as he lingers in jail through the cold autumnal days before his execution. The compelling story ranges over the whole of Nat's Life, reaching its inevitable and shattering climax that bloody day in August. Overall, the book is in Very Good- Condition. There is a jacket, which has some wear and staining, as well as some chipping and tearing along the edges. It is price clipped. The boards have some wear and discoloration along the edges. Internally, it is firmly bound. There is light wear and browning to the pages. No pencil notes or other marks within the pages, however, there is a signature in red ink on the front end page, placed by a previous owner. Other small dings here and there. Not perfect, but generally a nice copy! Please email with questions and see my store for other great items. Inventory R-Box 8
