Description: This is the highly sort after TWA Pilot wing. This is museum quality reproduction of this pilot's wing. It is one most the most beautiful and different wings you will ever find. This wing dates from 1945 to 1950s when Transcontinental & Western Air changed its name to Trans World Airlines. There was a transitional period roughly between November 1945 and May of 1950 when Transcontinental & Western Air became known as Trans World Airline (note there is no ‘s’ in ‘airline’). These wings date from that time period. From about May of 1950, corporate officially changed the name to Trans World Airlines (they officially added the ‘s’ to ‘airline’).It is a 3 1/4 inch wide wing with screw backs, same as the original. This reproduction is in sterling with a 24k gold plate. Exquisite detail is featured in the wing feathering, as well as in the native American headdress. A beautiful piece from the golden era of aviation. The price for an original when they come up is rather high so this is a great way to fill that hole in your collection until you find one. While the screw backs are not shown in the picture, they are supplied with the wing. They take 1-4 weeks. Generally one week. 1417
