Description: Capote, Truman - The Grass Harp - Random House: New York, 1952 - 1st Edition / 1st Printing - "First Printing" stated on copyright page as required in order to denote the first printing of the first edition. The book has soft tips, edge wear, sunning to the spine, and some light soiling but the boards are still straight, the design and lettering on the front and spine are still bright, the binding is square and firm and internally the text block is clean. The dust jacket has soiling and edge wear with some shallow bites at the tips and top of the spine but still clean and presentable. A solid example of this title which is often well worn. This was the first printing of the play adaptation of Capote’s autobiographic novella of the same title published one year earlier. Significantly more uncommon than the novella as there were supposedly (per Ahearn) only 500 copies of this first edition printed, but honestly that number is likely higher. Basis for a handful of foreign language adaptations as well as the grossly under appreciated 1995 adaptation of the same title which starred Piper Laurie, Sissy Spacek, Water Matthau, and Edward Furlong. All books are offered with a full 30 day postage paid return policy. All books which are in dust jackets will be mailed with a clear archival dust jacket protector fitted. Shipping costs can be combined if multiple purchases are made. Items will be packaged and shipped within one business day unless otherwise noted.
