Description: Tudor Homes of England, with Some Examples from Later Periods, by Samuel Chamberlain. Folio; Illustrated with sketches by the author, and with measured architectural drawings by Louis Skidmore. Vintage Hardcover with intact Dust Jacket. Hardcover, w/ DJ, in Archival Mylar; Presumed First Edition, Unknown Print;NY: Architectural Book Publishing Company, Inc., 1929.Copyright 1929 by Architectural Book Pub. Co., Inc.Folio. Approx. 12.5" x 16.5" x 1.25" 246 pp. CONDITION is VERY GOOD+, in ACCEPTABLE BUT COMPLETE dust jacket, in archival Mylar jacket protector. Jacket is not price clipped ($27.50 price to upper corner of front flap). Jacket does bear significant damage: torn in multiple places, large chips from upper- and lower-right of front cover, other smaller chips at extremities, and some notable creasing inside and out. However, all text and the vast majority of the original jacket is still present, though pieced together, and held in place inside Mylar jacket protector. Despite showing wear and use, esp. at extremities of covers & spine, the volume remains in very good condition. UV (sun) fading to portions of cover that were once exposed to sunlight through gaps in jacket, the burgundy cloth boards remain fair with gilt titles to cover and spine all legible and complete. Book is unmarked within; no names, nameplates, or other markings whatsoever. Creasing to lower corner of front fly; separation of tissue at frontispiece well advanced but still holding; binding starting at rear endpapers but still holding and not severe. Otherwise book is very nice; remainder of binding quite sound and square still; text block in excellent condition, no foxing, minimal toning to only a few page edges, all text and illustrations very nice with crisp, bright, clean leaves throughout. Overall still an excellent vintage example with a great deal of character and aesthetic beauty, perhaps as much because of as in spite of signs of its age and attention.
