Description: Natural Dry Creek Turquoise preform Cabochon. Not backed, Not polished, Old material. Not treated in any way. 37.92 carats Dry Creek mine turquoise forms in any area with low concentrations of aluminum and copper metals. Due to the low metal concentrations the Turquoise is found in a very pale blue color. Most pale blue turquoise is chalky and too soft to cut without stabilization. Dry Creek turquoise is naturally hard but can be affected by oils in the skin and produces it comes into contact with so much is treated with the Zachary process and takes on a great polish. There's never been another vein of this material found elsewhere. Please see photos for dimensions. Some photos are wet to give a comparison to if it were polished.
