UNUSED PET Keyboard Commodore VIC-20, Serial #V002359, Collector’s Holy Grail

Description: NEW IN BOX First-ever production run PET keyboard Commodore VIC-20 Serial Number V002359 This is an extremely special (perhaps holy grail) new-in-box first production run VIC-20 with a 4-digit serial number. This first run of VIC-20s had keyboards very similar to the one used on the Commodore PET and were made in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The keys are much more square with large letters printed on them. I believe this computer has literally never been used - the original plastic is still on the space bar. The computer is still sealed in its original plastic bag. It is fully complete with all original sealed documentation. All of the twist-ties are still on the cables and PSU. I have never removed the computer from its box - I have only tipped it upward to make sure the documentation was present. As far as I know, it has never been fully removed from the box. The serial number on the computer matches the box. The box is in excellent shape with only some minor wear. There is a slit cut in the top of the box from where it was originally removed from the shipping palette direct from Commodore. I believe this cut caused the computer to be set aside at the store and never used. I believe the box was likely opened up a handful or times but the computer was never turned on. The only damage to the styrofoam is a cracked area on the top half near where the power supply sits. This is extremely common. This is hands-down the nicest PET keyboard VIC-20 I have ever seen, and maybe the nicest VIC-20 I’ve seen in general. This computer is genuine Commodore museum material. It includes a custom-ordered box protector. There are only 14 first-run VIC-20s with a 4-digit serial number currently listed on the VIC Registry. Only 7 of those computers have a serial number lower than this one. Very few of those still have their original box, perhaps none are still sealed. The computer will be packed absolutely bomb-proof and insured.
