Description: For sale is two parts of a Rare Uzbek Suzani Hanging- for a yurt or tent embroidery. We have owned this years - I bought it on a trip to Istanbul in the 2000 s - Suzani is a type of embroidery textile art particular to the Uzbeks & Central Asia. These embroidered, beaded & macramed ribbons were used as decoration for the yurts or tents of the nomadic people of Central Asia. Suzani embroidery is becoming a rare & dying art. As you can see from the pictures, I have a piece of this framed-That is why the balance is in two parts The condition of this particular piece is beautiful bright in perfect condition not faded.The macramé at the bottom is beautiful.The longer section measures 76” (6.33’) in length X 4” in width.The shorter piece measures 33 1/2” in length X 4” in width.
