Rutherford NJ started racing in 1938, raced at most E Coast tracks, joined the “Pappy” Hough 5 man racing team (Little Iron Pigs) in the 40’s advanced to the 1952 Indy 500 driving the Bowe’s “Seal Fast Special” finished 5th and received the first Indy 500 “Rookie of the Year” Award. Included with this award is a copy of a Kingsbridge Armory program with Art Cross’s photo on the cover and his racing biography. Being offered: Trophy is 19" tall with a 4 1/2" x 12" base (Bakelite)? Heavy! The plaque is not engraved but has tape on bottom that reads: Yellow Jacket Speedway, June 10th, 1946, 1st Pl with a 4" topper. Trophy has not been cleaned up.
