Description: Purchased maybe 25 years ago from a vintage clothing show. The seller told me her mother handmade this lovely dress when she was a young lady - I can't remember if she said 50s or 60s so I'm listing both. Slip and crinoline underneath. It looked like it had never been worn (and it's possible she never wore it or wore it once?). She passed it on to her daughter (who I bought it from). I fell in love with it and then sadly had no occasion to wear it so it's been hanging in my closet in storage all this time. I've never worn it. I would feel better if someone could get some use out of it and treasure it! It's a stunning reminder of the elegance of the past. Great for parties, weddings, special occasions, a theatre costume, dress up, dancing, vintage clubs, etc. The color is unique and hard to describe - sort of a forest green meets brown. Let me know if you want more photos - I can maybe take it outside and photo it in natural light if that helps. Cinched waist is awesome (and flattering!) with a wide, black middle section. Cute 'tails' in the back. Back zip and hook and eye closure. What's nice is that it's easy to wear - no "bra strap showing problem" or too low of a neckline. Due to the personal nature of this item, returns are not accepted...therefore, please be sure it will fit the intended recipient, or have alternate recipients in mind should it not suit the intended recipient. I don't know the size, but it's about a 26" waist because I measured it as 13" across the front. (13 x 2 = 26.) So a suitable recipient would be petite with a small waist. When I first bought it, I tried it on and it fit great - my measurements are 32DD bra size, 26" waist, 33" hips, and I'm 5' 2 1/2" tall. I weigh 105 lbs. Hope that helps. I will have to carefully roll it / fold it in a box in order to ship it, so please note it may arrive needing to be steamed. I am not sure how to care for this garment - probably your local dry cleaner would know. Shipping is based on weight of box and buyer's zip. Save money on shipping with local pick up from the NW Chicago Suburbs (60193). If you don't live here, you may have a friend, relative or colleague who does who might be willing to secure the purchase on your behalf and then get it to you on their next visit. If not, consider taking a weekend getaway to Chicago for our deep-dish pizza and beef sandwiches! Thanks for looking! Please view my other listings for more fun stuff. :-)
