Description: Vintage 30s navy blue lace short sleeve dress appropriate for size S in good condition. This is purported to be cotton lace (and feels like it to me), likely hand-sewn. Navy blue floral lace with a narrow collar and deep v-neck, covered button front, short sleeves with gathered shoulders, covered buckle attached belt. The front is open from below the buttons and clearly the dress is transparent and necessitates an under slip. There is a small hole in the left front waistline, and possibly very small holes in other places. The lace is fragile but not too fragile to wear as long as it is not worn tight or abraded. When I check measurements, the hips are as narrow as the waist, which is not unusual for this era. It could use another hand wash in cold water, block dry on towels and then iron damp over a cotton cloth to optimize its shape before wear. NO stretch. An amazing period piece.
