Description: Rod is from the late 1940s to early 1950s. Dark "impregnated" cane. It was manufactured by the Horrocks - Ibbotson Company andrefurbished. "Silver Lake" is written on the butt section. The Silver Lake was based on the upper echelon "Vernley" H-I model, which sold for $30 in the late 1940s, making it one of the most expensive H-I rods. It was recommended for bass. The ferrules of this rod fit perfectly, sections "pop".when pulled apart . Cork looks almost new. The reel seat is black, not gray, as it is supposed to be, and it has an acrylic extension, which makes the butt section 1/4 inch long. The tip section is 1/4 inch down. There is no extra tip. A minor delamination on the butt section has been closed by epoxy (see photos). The rod fishes well. It will take a 4WT or 5WT line. Will be shipped in a period sock and 2 inch diameter PVC tube.
