Description: Please email with any questions. Circa 1970 handmade gown to fit Barbie fashion dolls from a local Georgia estate. The Barbie dolls from the same estate are circa 1970 and so is this dress that fits Barbie beautifully- DOLL NOT INCLUDED. No label on the piece and I think it is very likely that it was made by a talented seamstress as a little cottage industry. She may have been a dressmaker by day and her Barbie clothes business was a way to use lovely fabric and trimming scraps from her human client's gowns- maybe using some of the fashion doll dress patterns that were available. The gown has a red underskirt with a serged hem , an overskirt of red fabric with a printed pattern of black lace- red chiffon ruffle on the hem, bodice is covered in the same lace pattern fabric with black lace edging and straps, neckline edged in silver sequins, two snap fasteners in the back. Please see my other OOAK handmade vintage Barbie clothes from the same estate. Sequins at the back are a little loose. Very clean, just needs a little steaming or ironing. This one has a Can-Can/Moulin Rouge vibe and is very different from the other gowns that we bought from the estate.
