Description: This is a beautiful wide heavy brushed metal clamper /cuff bracelet with a safety chain. As shown in the photos. It has the same marking on the inside of the bracelet hinge as other Castlecliff bracelets I have researched on many costume jewelry web sites, but I can not find a Castlecliff or any other signature. There were some pieces that were not ever marked, according to the costume jewelry collectors web sites, before the 1950s. So maybe this is one of those? The safety chain is marked 1/20 14K GF. It has a very soft satiny feel and brushed surfaces with polished edges and does not smell like brass or other pot metal jewelry. When I found it in a bag of jewelry I bought at an antiques flea market I thought it was sterling because it was really dark like tarnished sterling. I cleaned it with only a soft toothbrush and toothpaste and found the marking on the safety clasp. I was watching a live jewelry show today and they were showing Castlecliff Egyptian style clamper cuff bracelet and I saw that the hinge and markings on the bracelet they were showing are exactly the same as this one. So I looked for other Castlecliff signed bracelets and they also have this same hinge marking.
