Vintage Classic 1960s Chrome Pinstripe Blaupunkt Koln Autoseek Mercedes Porsche

Description: You are looking at this very nice chrome Blaupunkt Koln with amplifier, which was authentic trough the 60s, until the early 70s. Made in Germany, due to its automatic seeking function, it was a true high end, and the most expensive unit you could get back in the days. With part number 7 630 740 000. With this pinstripe faceplate, it was usually seen in Mercedes 107SL, 114, 115, 116, but also in Porsche 911, 912, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Jaguar, and other greats of the era. As shown in the images, the front face comes in excellent condition. The chrome frame is in great shape, still shinny, and the scale is NOS. Some marks on the levers only, but all in all, very nice and luxurious head-unit. Works on FM, excellent reception, nice and clear sound. Of course, I can`t test the AM since there is no AM reception in Europe anymore, but there is a noise on each band, so it should also work. The scale is fully functional, and the unit is illuminated (as pictured). The on/off switch (left button) still "clicks" nicely.Even the auto seek mechanism still works (engages by pushing the right button). Set to a standard 12V neg on chassis. Full set, with amplifier & the cable to put units together - exactly as pictured. To connect it, use yellow (factory plug) for power - comes out of the amplifier. Then ground the AMPLIFIER anywhere you like, on its casing. I have also added the 3x standard 3.5mm "banana"plugs, to connect the speakers - please check the last image. Ready to be shipped for your classic car restoration project! Note: please have in mind that this top quality radio with amp makes a very heavy parcel (over 2kgs).
