Description: Early educational spelling toy, circa 1930's. The Magic Blackboard, produced by The Rippon Company, uses engineered balsa wood keys to teach children how to spell the names of common animals by inserting the key into the spring driven blackboard. Overall this piece is in good, working condition, however I believe that it is incomplete and does show signs of wear consistent with age and use. 12 animal keys are included. I believe that it may have originally contained 16 keys. The box itself is in fair condition with split corners. The box lid is also missing. Please see photos for contents and condition. Box measures 11" x 7 1/4" x 1/2" Interesting and unique piece for any collector of vintage toys or educational tools!
