Description: Vintage Ted Williams (by Shakespeare) Fly Fishing Rod No.535-3058 8’6” This is a vintage two-piece Ted Williams fly fishing rod. Endorsed by Ted Williams, sold by Sears, Roebuck, &Co. and made by Shakespeare in Wonderod styling. Model No. 535-3058. The rod is 8’6” in length and weighs 5.1 oz. Rod is designed for 7-8 weight fly line. Wonderod double built tubular blade this rod dates to the later 1960’s. Rod has a 4” bronze and gold aluminum sliding hood double ring locking fly reel seat, 6 1/4” half wells specie cork grip and an aluminum winding check. Standard stainless steel hookeeper is a replacement, Stainless steel stripper guide, seven (7) stainless snake guides, and a stainless tip top. All are “new/old stock” larger size replacements. Rolled, welted, nickeled ferrules are also “new/old stock” replacements. Blade is honey brown with orange vintage Gudebrod nylon guide winds and dark brown nylon accents. Specie cork has been cleaned, reconditioned, and sealed. Rod is finished with a premium grade of glass rod varnish. Rod comes with a two-compartment blue cloth rod bag and enclosed in a brown hard plastic rod tube with black end caps. All will ship well protected and insured.
