Description: Bought secondhand, exact age/ history unknown. Appears to be an older folk art oil painting on calf/ sheep skin vellum riveted to a wood base. It is a reproductive rendering of the Agricultural Calendar frescoes found on the archway in the Museum of the Royal Collegiate Church of San Isidoro Royal Pantheon. They are of 12th century Roman Frescoes that depict each of the months and show what a typical Leonese person would be doing. The frescoes themselves are biblical in nature.
