Description: For sale we are delighted to be able to offer an exceptionally clean and well preserved example of a Borgel cased West End Sowar Prima dating to the WW2 era. Not just clean on the exterior the rare FHF 30 movement has been serviced and is running like a charm. The spec is as follows. All stainless steel case made by Borgel. Screw caseback, signed to the inside. Measuring 28mm without the crown. Fixed lugs in excellent condition accepting a 16mm straight through strap. Broad arrow military marking on the outer caseback. It appears that somebody has tried to file it off. An almost new looking non luminous original slivered dial with no loss of print and a very fine consistent layer of patina to the point that it is negligible. The beautifully polished blued steel spade hands are highly legible against the subdued sheen of the almost frosted silvered backdrop. On close inspection there is a touch of corrosion to the tips of the hands. Inside is a West End signed FHF 30 movement. With its gilt frosted bridges, the three finger layout and incabloc shock protection it is clear to see that this was a high spec watch for the period. The movement has been serviced in early 2024 and is running like new. During the service, the crystal was replaced, as was the winding stem. The crystal may have some swirlies from storage. The watch has also had a custom made vintage leather cuff strap made for it further making this a very unique timepiece. The watch is unworn since its service. Thanks.
