The vast majority of Germans in World War II were Catholics. Like many funeral services today, a small card (usually baseball card size) were printed with a photo and brief history of the deceased. This custom has existed for several centuries and was very prevalent during the Second World War. This particular card was printed in remembrance of: Stephan Bernhard Stephan was a Private in an Elite Police Unit. He passed from severe internal injuries in Russia on April 14, 1943 at the age of 32. Please check back often as we will be listing more coins and currency.
